New York, June 12 -- California State University, Fresno Classics professor Victor Davis Hanson was presented the Eric Breindel Award for Excellence in Journalism this week at the Harvard Club in New York City.
Hanson, a prolific author, columnist and editorial writer for several national publications, received the award from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Fox News Channel Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes and Newsweek Senior Editor Elizabeth Weymouth. Hanson on NPR Live National Show

nprNew York, Feb. 4 -- Victor Davis Hanson, Fresno State Classics prof and military expert, will be featured on two National Public Radio shows this week including a live national airing today (Feb. 4) at 11 a.m. PDT on the Neill Conan show discussing the family farm. He will do today’s live interview via telephone from the Fresno State campus.

On Wednesday, he will be on the Glenn Mitchell Show in Dallas (KERA-FM) to discuss his recent American Heritage cover article on his expertise regarding the war in Afghanistan. This will also be live via telephone from the Fresno State campus at 11 a.m. PDT.  Today’s national show can be heard in rebroadcast form on the web at 3 p.m. Pacific Time. The program is not broadcast live in Fresno on KVPR nor is it available live on the Web. The Wednesday Dallas show is aired in north Texas but can be heard live on the web at KERA-FM.

Fresno, Jan. 2 -- Fresno State classics professor Victor Davis Hanson was hailed in national media reports this week. His latest column on winners and Losers after Afghanistan is featured in the National Review.  Columnist George Will cited Hanson's book "The Soul of Battle" in a national column. Fresno, Sept. 6, 2001 -- Three faculty members from California State University, Fresno will be signing and reading from their new books on consecutive Saturdays in September at Fig Garden Bookstore in Fig Garden Village in Fresno.  One of the events will be filmed for Book TV on C-SPAN2. All three are from 1-3 p.m.

A Night of Honor at Fresno State

Fresno, April 4, 2001 -- Several hundred people gathered at Fresno State tonight to honor students who had qualified for the nation's largest and oldest collegiate honor society, Phi Kappa Phi. Special recognition was made by the society to Bruce Thornton, professor.
