Coach Hill And Spirited Red Wavers
Get the Spirit Going at Friday’s Pep Rally
OCT.
11, 2002 -- Coach Pat Hill and The Bulldog Beat charged up Red Wave fans
at today’s Homecoming Pep Rally at noon on the South Patio of the
University Student Union at Fresno State.
The rally, with Timeout and the cheerleaders and dancers, was the
highlight of Spirit Week activities that have been under way for
tomorrow’s Homecoming 2002 game against SMU Saturday.
The game is nearing a sellout with only 700 tickets available, reports
Dana Deminna, interim ticket office manager. She said those are expected
to be sold today. After that, 1,000 general admission tickets (no seat
assignment) will become available. Limited seating in non-alcohol section
of the red seats are also still available.
Today, the students got loud and noisy with activities like these:
-
Loudest Bulldog Bark Contest -- audience
chose the winner;
-
Most Red Club – students clubs with most
members wearing red;
-
Most Spirited –student club loudest
yells/noise or showing best cheer, etc.;
-
Fresno State Trivia Contest –students
showed what they know, or don’t know, about their university’s
traditions.
Also helping jazz up the students were:
-
The Loh Brothers (Woody, Wally and the
Beev) and their Bulldog Cadillac; and
-
Todd Haskin’s Red Wave Truck,
Homecoming Committee chairperson Roberto Gomez declared the week’s events
a great success. Now, all that is left is the Homecoming tailgate Saturday
at 4 p.m. at Beiden Field and the big game at 7:30 p.m. in Bulldog
Stadium. |
